Zulutrade - Accounts Update 12/24/2009

Welcome back Zulu-fans. Here's a recap of the week's action.

Things were quiet in the live account. Cheetah picked up 3 pips and that was fine with me. My live account now has just about 380 pips left, so we'll see if Cheetah can pull it back from the brink. On the demo accounts side...

Blinov was looking sharp and picked up 105 pips with 6 straight winners with only a 64-pip draw down. Blinov has now picked up 330 pips on 17-straight winners since adding him on a demo account back less than 2 weeks ago. He has about -394 pips in open losses, so we may have just been lucky not getting stopped out.

Next up is Missforex who picked up 48 pips on 4 straight winners. He is up 392 pips since the beginning of the demo period only 2 weeks back with 10 straight winners. Unlike Blinov, Missforex has no open positions.

Ferrari was down 14 pips on the week in quiet action.

Hayate had exactly one trade and hit my 180 pip stop. Ouch.
kingtrade didn't trade last week and has only traded 4 times in the month of December. Zulutrade shows he has in the neighborhood of 70 live followers, just waiting for him to spring a trade.

280pips.com is down -44 pips on the week, but I can't blame the provider since I had him reversed.

Student picked up 12 pips, but now has 6 open EUR/USD positions in the red. This is uncharacteristic of him, since he usually takes his losses. At this point is is painting the tape to keep his performance graph on an upward trajectory.

That's all for check back for more updates on Zulutrade, Metatrader, and automated Forex trading.

  1. I note that LowestDD, who has gotten away with a lot of crappy trades lately by waiting them out through massive drawdowns, finally got nailed recently with four very serious losses (180-250 pips each, in succession). I would love to know his reasoning for closing these trades after only four days while holding many others which were just as seriously underwater for much longer periods. He was long the GBP vs USD for those four trades, and something scared him to bail out. Very unusual behaviour for LowestDD. Maybe he saw that I was short the GBP, lol.

  2. Redford-

Agreed - its hard to beleive LowestDD is so popular - #1 by live trade last week.

Too bad Zulu is so deceiving in terms of letting these guys play with unlimited funny money. It took me $1000's of dollars to figure that out. But I don't know any Forex trader who hasn't blown out a few accounts before they found what worked for them.

In terms of EA's, all the testing and trading i'm doing is based on a $1000 account. That way I can afford to test out several different ideas and will be able to handle drawdowns in the %20 - %40 range without freaking out.

Thanks again for reading and for the comment,

    Chris

  3. Redford's comment made me think about limiting of open trades a signal provider has in an account. (I thought that maybe LowestDD would close some out because there was a limit, but I don't know if Zulutrade limits open positions)At any rate I wonder if it would actually hurt Zulutrade to limit the number of open positions in a signal provider can have open. They may not loose money on trades as users most likely are never in on all 15 to 20 trades a provider opens at times, but maybe might loose money in some other fashion.
