Bigwin goes into drawdown

Zulutrade Provider Bigwin broke his recent low-drawdown streak today. He sold a whole bunch of GBP/USD (almost 17 lots) between 1.6226 and 1.6254. Unlike recent trades - which he was able to close at a small loss - these ran away and I was able to close one lot at a -48 pip loss and another at a -73 pip loss. I turned around and went long GBP/USD and picked up a quick 13 pips in the other direction.

Nothing surprising here since Bigwin was due for a pullback. The only thing that bugs me is the Show Current Signal Providers' Trades view on the positions tab shows all the open positons (last 8 on the left). the Open Positions line item on the performance tab shows no open trades.

By the time I got this post done, the open trades showed up on the P&L summary on the left (shows -1599 open trades). This is important since while the winning trades show up right away on the performance tab, the open failing trades don't show up immediately.

Just one more thing to be aware of - what you see on Zulutrade is not always what you get!

  1. Well seems like your boy Bigwin at last showed his ture colors, as of August 4 his draw downs now have grown to well over 280 pips, and his losses are now well beyond 1,500 pips per group trading. If you are still using 500 pip Stops you just a nice draw down. I knew he would do this, and since he as started a new system why would he care, and it show a remake and replay just like FX Markets, and it looks like the other provider named "make it grow" is on his way down to join Bigwin, at this writing "make it grow" is sitiing on a 6,000 pip floating losses.

  2. Anonymous - Understood about the # of lots outstanding. That's one of the pitfalls of Zulutrade is that they give the traders and unlimited (theoretical) level of capital to work with and none of us have unlimited capital to trade.

Fortunately, I lowered my stops to 180 pips before Bigwin's latest drawdown, so I didn't get hit too badly and i'm still up hundreds of pips using Bigwin. I noticed at one point on the GBP$ run up to 170 that at one point Bigwin had over 86 lots outstanding which is pretty ridiculous. In any case, I'm still with Bigwin and i'll do a new post and put it in perspective. Thanks for the comment.
